Howzit guys. I'm a junior at Hawaii Baptist Academy and I want to make paintball a greater sport! My quest now is to form a paintball team for my school so we can help push this sport to thrive more. I heard about schools like Kamehameha and Mid-pacific Institute having teams so Im going help HBA become a regular ILH or regular team with them.
What I do know about paintball is how to play, how to stay safe, and how to have one hell of a time. What I don't know is how I can help set this team up. If I can get an approval by the administrators on making a team, I need to know how I can help my teams practice. How do other schools practice? Do they have a special agreement with paintball fields on Hawaii to practice? How can we get discounts or support from fields at Nimitz or Bellows?
I love this sport as much as others here and Im going to help push it on. Brothers in Paintball, I need your guys help. Please give me your advice and support. Mahalo!  Shaka

well just see how other clubs and sports within schools organize, and just use that for a template and change the sport game hobby or activity with the word paintball

if you have team sports that are not inter-mural then just see how they got started since most of them were probably started by students

Do you know if its possible to either make deals with a paintball field (preferably the one at nimitz)/have their support? The part about cost is always a reason why some people dont take up paintball.

I totally agree with getting high schools involved... I'm at LJA and trying to do the same thing. Have you gotten any of the answers you were looking for? Do you have a contact for the schools who do have a program? Please let me know thanks

Here's the deal, most admin do jive with the whole paintball club on campus. Too much risk and liability when it comes to markers on campus, get over that hurdle then you get in line for the next hurdle=$$$ paitball isn't cheap and 3rd its a come and go phase in many students lives, take my club for example: At Kapolei High a few falculty members were trying to get admin support to start the club, but it got shot down every year, this we got a new Principle and he gave us the green light, then we had club sign ups, we initially got 200+ people to sign up for the club, then when they found out the dues we got around 35-40 students,, at our first outing we had around 20 kids show up, then second we had around 10, and our most recent we had 1, even though the field we were playing at donated 30 passes for free admission, rental, and air, still only 1 showed up, and finally when it came time to take our club picture just 1 showed up again. I understand paintball is a hobby and studying and "real sports" come into play, so I really don't stress being the advisor....so... long story short there are many hurdles to overcome, good luck!
