I saw on paintball hawaii's forum that the gear said he is an "psp ultimate" ref - what is that and how did you get that status?  Which events did you ref?

At each PSP Reffing class they pick out some people to allow to become Ultimate Ref, meaning you can run a field at a PSP event.

I have not reffed a PSP event yet (thank God, they are brutal) but I have reffed alot of other tournys before coming to Hawaii.
