Hey guys.  I've been slinging paint on and off for a good 7 years or so and I only recently found out about this forum.

Wanted to stop in and say hi, but also ask a few questions.

Right now I've got a Tippmann A-5 w/ Response trigger and a 10" (I think) Apex barrel running on High Pressure air.  I'm by no means the athletic sort so this set up tends to keep me slow and my arms get tired quite easily.  Recently at Bellows, I've found that I rather like running around and actually, y'know attacking, rather than bunkering down and putting out suppressing fire.  I've been thinking about getting a TPX pistol and running with just that for some games, but I've heard mixed reviews.

So...On this particular topic...
1. What are good options for light markers that will allow me to be mobile and aggressive.  Preferably something that's not a pump.

2. Is the TPX any good?  How does it compare to the Tiberius Tac-8?

3. Is running just a pistol a viable option?

Also...My girlfriend plays with me.  Last Christmas I got her a Phantom because she likes to take her time and doesn't like to waste paint like I do.  Since then I've been looking for equipment to upgrade her gun with.  Currently she's running a purely stock phantom, with the 12gram changer at the back and everything.

What are good upgrades for that marker?  I don't think she wants to have a vertical 12gram chamber, but I know that's an option.

And as a final question that relates to both...The TPX has a hammerhead threaded barrel being offered for it by Tippmann.  The idea of real rifling on a paintball gun is very appealing, but I've heard incredibly mixed reviews of the product and I can't separate fact from fiction.  Has anyone tried using a hammerhead barrel?  If it's a good purchase I may get one for my Girlfriend as well as one for myself if I get a TPX.

well the M1A1 Abrams tank uses smooth bore and shoots further than most other tanks
so i wouldnt put much into rifling until there is conclusive evidence of it being more accurate or shooting further

i seen some TPX vids, seems cool, but the Tac can run FS rounds, but i dono if you wanna pay for more range

Most fields I play at are field paint only, so I don't think that FS rounds would be feasible...
But thanks for the quick feedback.

I see.  I'll consider it before I put out for a pistol then.

Though that is a much more expensive buy-in than if I go with a TPX...

Phantom doesnt really have have "upgrades" but it does have acceceries (i think i spelt that wrong) You can get a Open Class body that allows you to but a hopper on it , you can get a longer or shorter barrel , you can get a bottom line kit that allows you to rock a tank fro the bottom of the frame , you can get a CCI L-Stock or CCI T-Stock. Theres a bunch more things you can get for a phantom but there arent really upgrades for it. You can call mike at CCI and tell him what your looking for the phantom and im sure he will Gladly help you.

Thanks,
Jacob
