Has anyone played the new setup?  I think that part of the field has been cut for when they put up the Air field.  It's basically a big L-shaped field.  So one side is narrow versus the wide open side.  In my opinion the wide side gets the advantage because the narrow gets bottlenecked trying to come out.  Anyone who tried this out have an opinion?

It all depends how well you work the houses at the bend in the L ... you gotta get up quick. It would be the left tapeline house and the #3 house (center house right at the bend) backed by the #2 house, to keep people at or near the corner from taking out the guys in the #3 house. The #2 house can also help with the mirror tapeline house.

It is true that the wider side has more leeway to move, so that side tends to be the "attack" side vs the other "defend" side. But I think there is enough cover to play either side effectively; the bottleneck also keeps the wide side players from breaking through easily.

I like that field a lot and hope they continue to develop it. It's a unique field in Hawaii.

I definitely agree with you that it is a unique field.  In my opinion I prefer it to the air field.  When working the narrow end of the field, I think its easier just to dig in and wait for them to come to you unless, like you said you move up quickly and have people to back you up.

The tapeline house is critical, if you give that up it's over. Gotta control that tape.

Well, if you can draw them in and still have a substantial hold on the back I think you still have a chance.  The chance of you winning definitely does diminish though.  Tongue
