Do you know about where this new field on Maui is? I've heard lots of talk but no action. I own a paintball park in CA www.actionpaintball-beaumont.com and I'm looking into opening a field on Maui too. My current park is a professionally run park with 7 fields including tournament field with air bunkers, etc. Hopefully I'm not late to the party! My park would be a clean park with all the amenities like netting, air bunkers, fill stations and a clean and extremely fun place to play.

I'm doing my initial research on the need for a legitimate park on Maui. I have people looking for properly zoned land. Any ideas or suggestions on where to build it, let me know! I'm looking for at least 2 acres of leased/rented commercial land somewhere around central Maui.

Where is he building it? I've to talked to many people in the Maui County planning department including the fire department and nobody has pulled permits for a paintball field. Even D & D field was an illegally run field. Usually illegal fields get shut down due to neighbor complaints or code enforcement issues.

How many people do you think are into paintball on Maui?
Are there enough players to support two parks on Maui?
If you were to build a paintball park, where would you build it?

If your friend is building his field primarily for speedball players and tournament players - he'd be no competition for me. My parks are set up for groups, parties and mostly beginners to intermediate players. I do have about a 40 piece air bunker set up that I would use there since they are easy to clean and set up. Let me know your opinion and suggestions.

Well my friend isn't running it just playing there

Also I don't think they can close down a field on privately owned land if no neighbors are around, and from what I hear no one is

And yes it's a tourney style air field from what i hear

Why Maui? #1, There are no professionally run and legally operating paintball parks on Maui. So, why not?

Demographics, current player attitudes, but, mostly the abundance of renegade fields on both private and public lands have been road blocks for years, especially after D & D shut down. Same goes for islands of Hawaii and Kauai.

The field on Maui is a private field run by invitation only at the leisure of a high school classmate of mine, now a Maui police officer. It's on his house lot property and consists of one NPPL airfield. Right on, "KP"!

So are you saying there is not enough current and future players that would want to play in a real paintball park like on Oahu, with real air bunkers that was clean and professionally run? If so that kinda sucks for you guys! I know of the renegade fields but from what I've heard they are really dirty and not always open or safe. I know the renegade fields are free to play and there will always be some people interested in playing woodsball or renegade ball than on a professionally designed and built park that charges admission. Many new players to the sport would rather go to a professional, clean field, with real air bunkers, nets and all the amenities don't you think?

I'm interested in learning what Maui paintballers are looking for in a new paintball park. I have a location picked out in Central Maui and if all goes well I should have it up an running really soon. I currently own a paintball park in CA www.actionpaintball-beaumont.com. Maui is our next location to be built. Any suggestions, comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated. We built and designed our current park based upon the requests of the paintballer community and we would do the same on Maui. Email me your comments to dgharrison777@gmail.com

Please do not read and misinterpret my statements. Nowhere did I state what you are so quick to assume. Maui could use a full blown field, no doubt. However, what I have stated in my previous post is to educate you about what's happening on Maui. This is the reason Delta Paintball (fields in England, Europe, Scotland, Australia) and of course my good friends Dennis and Gio of Giant Paintball (I'm sure you know of Giant) have passed on Maui in the past and recent past.

I suggest you call Island Hobbies on Maui and talk to Garrett aka "Super Turtle." He can give you good advice and steer you in the appropriate directions. Or you can call me @ 808 630-6147 for help with due diligence for your project.

Some renegade fields operate as well as or better than some professional fields Diamond, please do not assume that the field I have been talking about is sub standard, from what people have said it rivals most other fields they have been to

Hey who was the douche that owned a field and would go to renegade fields just so he knew where they were and would close them down crying to dlnr?

I think there should be a wall of infamy for people like that

No worries. I left you a message to find out more info. I have had several conversations with Garrett and other players on Maui that play weekly at fields all around the island. At this point I'm just tryting to guage the need for a small paintball park that would be geared more towards beginners to intermediate players. The tournament guys will always find great places in the woods to play which is to be expected. I not putting down anyone's field. I've seen videos posted on Youtube and many of the fields on Maui look cleaner than fields at SC Village or Jungle Island.

Again to anyone on Maui who loves to play paintball, here's all I'm asking:
1. What are you looking for in a paintball park on Maui?
2. Where do you recommend it be built?

I've been researching Maui and the complexities of going through Maui County's approval process for a while. It's certainly not easy to say the least and it would be extremely expensive too. So I don't even know yet if all the math works out. If it does, expect us to be open really soon.
